Blah, Blah, Blah....
Several years ago I owned a pagan shop called Journeys of the Soul in Columbus, OH. This set is my attempt to re-create my shop for TS2. The screenshot at the top of the page is a fairly close representation of what the store actually looked like. It was a plain square box building. The shop on the left was actually a pet store for a while but, since Pets was not out when I made this, I made it an ocean-themed restaurant. The plants you see in the background is my attempt to recreate the 63' diameter ritual circle that everyone involved with the shop help me build. Since creating circles is a bit difficult in the game it looks a bit funny but its the thought that counts right? The coloring of the plants coincides with the four elements. The circle was comprised of three concentric circles. The outer rim of plants contained a symbolic representation of its element. In real life, I used a pole mounted wind chime for air, a fire pit for fire, a birdbath for water (running an electric line for a pond was really expensive), and a potted pine tree for earth. In the game, I have the flame shooting object from NL, a pool, a potted tree and the wind chimes from the original game (until I can create a more authentic version). The long paved area along the left was the driveway to my landlady's house. We actually did have those ugly light poles too. The doors and windows are the wrong color (mine were green) but until I find some recolors those will work. I did have a huge pond in the middle of the store with fish in it. In one of the other screenshots you will see a black cat - the cat is available from Mango Sims. I had a very large grey tabby in the store named Mack and since I can't mesh a cat to save my soul, her mesh works nicely. One of these days I may even recolor it grey. Some of my previous set designs were actually based on displays from my shop. The tumbled crystals from the Crystal Shop set were the actual displays from my shop, as were some of the candle displays. I will be updating items from my old sets that should be in my shop as time permits. The tree located inside the shop was created by most of the shop staff out of old newspaper, chicken wire, actual tree branches, concrete and plaster. I would wire leaves, bats, snowflakes, etc to the branches as the seasons changed.
